litchfield paddle events: elevating the paddling experience
I am excited to invite you to join us for a ribbon cutting to announce new paddlecraft rental services this Thursday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Tom State Park off Route 202 on the Washington Depot-Litchfield border.
Park visitors can now rent a canoe, kayak or paddleboard at the locations listed below:
- Candlewood Kayak Rental offers kayak and paddleboard rentals at Squantz Pond State Park and Squantz Cove in New Fairfield
- Litchfield Paddle offers canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals at Mount Tom State Park in Litchfield and Lake Waramaug State Park in Kent
- Main Stream Canoe and Kayaks offers canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington
- Scoot and Paddle offers kayak and paddleboard rentals at Indian Well State Park in Shelton
Expanding opportunities to engage in paddlesports with rentals in State Parks was one of the top ideas to emerge from the Partnership in Parks Initiative's Request for Information. These vendors were selected through a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process offered earlier this year.
The ribbon cutting will include a speaking program and an optional paddle.
